Our Latest Success Story:

Holiday Giving Brings Holiday Cheer
PGCAR Officers, Directors and Community Service Committee would like to send a big "thank you" to everyone for their generous contributions to the needy family that PGCAR adopted this Christmas. Because of the contributions that we received, we were able to acquire everything on the family's list. In addition, we had funds left over to assist them with their rent!

As a result of this experience, we've been inspired to keep giving. Why limit what we can do? For more information about giving to this family or for other efforts in making a differnce, please read on...

Help Make a Difference:

A Family in Need
During the 2007 holiday season, the Community Service Committee was blessed with the opportunity to meet a very loving family in need. Although PGCAR gave generously to this family for the holiday, the Community Service Committee felt moved by their ability to made the best of very little given their current situation. Furthermore, the family's gratitude for whatever help we could give is overwhelming.

We believe that together we can combine our efforts throughout the year and help ease the troubles for such a wonderful family. We would like to continue to help them for as long as we can, in as many ways as we can.

We are continuing to accept contributions towards rent for this family. Just mail your check payable to PGCAR or pay online here

In the near future, we will be working on compiling a needs list for the family to see what we can do to continue to help. Be on the lookout for more information soon! Be ready to help out - just like you already have. Remember, we can do great things if we all work together.

Blood Drive
The Committee also has planned a Blood Drive for February 12th at the Association office. More information on the time of the Blood Drive will be disseminated shortly. If you are eligible to give blood, please mark the date.

Christmas in April
Christmas in April is another project being supported by the Community Service Committee. We will be asking for volunteers to work on a house this year. We hope to put together at least one team of workers. Volunteers must sign up by March 1st.

MAR C.A.R.E. Award
The Prince George's County Association of REALTORS® Community Service Committee realizes that Prince George's County REALTORS® give back to their communities every day in a number of different ways; they are coaches, mentors and scout leaders. They deliver Meals on Wheels, work on Habitat and Christmas in April Homes. We have many REALTOR® companies that raise money every year for a favorite charity, collecting food, coats and toys. The problem we have is that no one is sharing what they do with PGCAR! They don't do it for the recognition.

Well, PGCAR has a chance to win MAR's CARE Award which gives us $10,000 to use for whatever cause we select. We could use it for another Habitat House. We could use it for a college scholarship for a deserving high school senior. We could give it to a food bank or numerous other charities...

...but we can't win if you don't tell us what you are doing!
